UFO Book: An Account of a Meeting with Denizens of Another World (1871)
Very interesting account of a UFO encounter in 1871. A time when aircraft in the skies was not common if not probable at all. Much less aircraft flying at night and with navigation lights. The reader is treated to an account that is devoid of the biases of today and quite refreshing. At some times comical and quizzing in the style of 1871 English language of the time, but also you see that the day to day problems people had back then have not changed much. Mister Loosley is most concerned with arriving on time for dinner when he first realizes he is witnessing something quite out of the ordinary and his first thoughts are about his wife scolding him due to his tardiness. The editor, David Langford has done an exceptional job in “translating” the account to “modern speak” and an overall deconstruction of the events. As allays the reader is encouraged to make up his/ her own mind. Great read!
